Halton Borough Council is congratulating sixth form and college students on achieving fantastic A-Level and equivalent examination results, with students excelling across both academic and vocational subject areas.
Results show students achieving success in a range of academic subjects with 98% of A-Level entries awarded A*-E grades, in line with the national A*-E pass rate of 98% and across Halton, 77% of these have been awarded at ‘high grades,’ A*-C.
Students completing BTEC and vocational equivalent subjects are also celebrating success with 100% pass rate and many awarded at Distinction grades, equivalent to ‘A’ grades at A-Level. Many Halton young people have achieved grades which will enable them to continue their education and learning at university or studying a higher level Apprenticeship.
Halton Borough Council’s Strategic Director for People, Mil Vasic, says: “It is a day to congratulate our young people who are leaving school and college with the essential skills and qualifications which will help them achieve their full potential in life. Thanks must go to all those involved in supporting them throughout their time at school and college.”
The Council’s Executive Board member for Children, Education and Social Care, Cllr Tom McInerney, added: “The results reflect the hard work, effort and determination of students and the high quality of teaching in our schools and colleges. I would like to pass on my congratulations to all the young people and wish them the very best in whatever path they have chosen to follow.”
