Liverpool hotel group Signature Living has unveiled remarkable plans to launch a 600-bed ‘party boat hotel’ to take young ravers from the River Mersey to Ibiza and other party destinations in the Mediterranean.

The ambitious plan comes after company boss Lawrence Kenwright splashed out £3.9 million on a new cruise liner – that he intends to open as a plush party hotel this summer.

The idea would be to dock the rave vessel on the Mersey, before it sets sail for the likes of Ibiza, Marbella and Majorca.

Signature Living is intending to launch the ship’s maiden voyage from the banks of the Mersey in Spring 2019.

Converting the ship into a luxury party hotel will be Signature Living’s first venture at sea.

The company say it will appeal to a younger generation of holiday-makers as it will encompass the famous Alma De Cuba brand.

The hotel-on-water will see sun seekers experience ‘Ocean and Nikki Beach style parties’ with ‘world famous DJs performing from the Mersey all the way to the Mediterranean.’

As well as the party boat plan, the company will open its new Dixie Dean hotel in Victoria Street as it looks to create a ‘football quarter’ alongside its existing Shankly Hotel

And the company says it will start work on transforming the Cavern Walks shopping centre – with an ambition to create a ‘plush Vegas-style’ hotel comprising of restaurants and retail outlets.

Speaking about the plans, Signature Living Chairman Lawrence Kenwright said:

“Signature Living has always been different and moved forward when other hotel brands have stood still, and our floating hotel represents a major step forward. We want to show the world our unique concept and I know this vessel will help us do just that.
