Officers appeal for information following serious fail to stop collision in Widnes

Officers are appealing for information following a serious fail to stop collision in Widnes.

At 12.27pm on Saturday 11 September a report was received of a collision involving a mobility scooter and a motorbike on Lower House Lane, Widnes.

The rider of the mobility scooter, an 88-year-old local man, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The male rider of the motorbike, believed to be a blue Piaggio Beverley scooter, fled the scene along with another male riding a fluorescent yellow Raptor quad bike.

Road closures are currently in place around the Lower House Lane area and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Officers are being assisted by the police helicopter and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have information to get in touch.
