Further ‘drop-in’ Covid-19 vaccination clinics have been announced for the DCBL Stadium for anyone over the age of 18 who hasn’t yet received their first jab. The dates are as follows:
Wednesday 30th June: 15:00-19:00
Friday 2nd July: 10:00-13:30 and 15:00-17:30
Saturday 3rd July: 09:00-13:00
Monday 5th July: 14:00-19:00
Tuesday 6th July: 08:00-13:30
Thursday 8th July: 14:00-19:00
Friday 9th July: 08:00-14:00
All drop-in clinics will take place at the DCBL Stadium, Lowerhouse Lane, Widnes WA8 7DZ
No appointment needed is for these clinics, but to avoid queuing, appointments can be booked in advance by calling 0151 511 5200 or emailing hccg.wa8pcn@nhs.net
For maximum protection, don’t forget your second jab
Residents are also reminded about the importance of getting their second jab.
Anyone who had their first jab on or around the 8 May, should now get their second jab, if they haven’t had it already.
A dedicated vaccination drop-in clinic (in zone 1) at the DCBL Stadium WA8 7DJ will be running on Saturday 3rd July for anyone due their second dose of Astra Zeneca Vaccine.

Vaccinated people are far less likely to get Covid-19 with symptoms. Vaccinated people are even more unlikely to get serious Covid-19, to be admitted to hospital, or to die from it – and there is growing evidence that vaccinated people are less likely to pass the virus to others.
The first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech, Oxford/AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccine offer good levels of protection, but to get maximum protection everyone needs to get a second dose.
Recent analysis by Public Health England (PHE) shows that COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective against hospitalisation from the Delta (B.1.61.2) variant. The analysis suggests the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is 96% effective and the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is 92% effective against hospitalisation after both doses.
