Asset and property company FI Real Estate Management is undertaking a £1.5m refurbishment programme at Astmoor Industrial Estate to accommodate the influx of tenants interested in the site following the opening of the new Mersey Gateway last year.
More than 35,000 sq ft of space has already been leased at the Runcorn estate in the four months since the six-lane toll bridge between Runcorn and Widnes opened in October 2017.
Businesses including automotive dealer, The German Car Specialists, food wholesaler, IFG Fresh and Frozen, and furniture company, Style Matters, have joined the raft of companies taking advantage of the transport infrastructure and connectivity now boasted by the area.
The new lettings also follow a programme of refurbishment works which saw FI Real Estate Management renovate space to accommodate its existing tenants who are looking to expand including vehicle part manufacturer, Exedy Clutch Europe.
The next phase of refurbishments are across the portfolio of 31 units ranging in size from 3,000 to 25,000 sq ft. The company is also looking at opportunities for future expansion across its five acres of development land.
The Mersey Gateway project had been in development by Halton Borough Council since 2006 to support the flow of traffic over the river Mersey and relieve the congested and aging Silver Jubilee Bridge.
