Made in Halton, the small grant commissioning programme for arts, culture and heritage projects, has now closed after funding many successful projects created by artists, creatives and community groups, living or based in the borough.
Formed as part of the Halton Borough of Culture 2021 celebrations, under the banner of ‘Celebrate Halton’, the programme funded ideas and projects that showcased work made in the borough or projects launched across the borough.
The diverse variety of projects funded includes outdoor theatre at Norton Priory Museums and Gardens, Loop Radio – a Halton-based 24/7 online dance music station bringing communities of DJs together, More In Common photography exhibition at Culture HQ Runcorn, creative arts workshops working with the LGBTQ+ community, and live comedy nights at The Studio, Widnes.
Cllr Paul Nolan, the Council’s portfolio holder for culture, says: “It’s great to see the variety of cultural and heritage projects that have benefitted from the Made in Halton grant. The borough is truly alive with a diverse range of organisations developing and stimulating the creative talents of our residents.”
Selections were made via a panel of people from key cultural organisations in the borough and grants of up to £750 were awarded to individuals or groups.
