Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary in Widnes are encouraging the public to come forward with information.
At 7.40pm on Saturday 27 March two men forced their way into a house on Greenwich Avenue using hammers.
The men then threatened the occupants inside with a machete before fleeing the address and getting into a black car on Kensington Road. The car then sped off in the direction of Camberwell Park Road.
One of the men is described as white, of a slim build and 5’8” tall. He was wearing dark clothing with a hat or head covering and a face mask.
The other man is described as white, of a stocky build and 6’2” in height. He wore a grey tracksuit and a hat or head covering and a face mask.
An investigation is currently underway and police are asking the public to come forward with information, CCTV or dash cam footage to assist with their enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Roberts, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: “We believe this incident to be targeted and are following a number of lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances.
“As part of the investigation I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to get in touch.
“While we conduct house-to-house enquiries and review CCTV footage in the area I am appealing to anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to make contact with us.”
