Halton Borough Council held a Community Networking Morning at Grangeway Community Centre to help groups network with each other.
The morning was also an opportunity to raise cash for the Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning to donate to a good cause at the same time.
A number of community groups and professional organisations came along to the event to showcase the work they do within the community and share resources they have on offer.
Some of the groups and organisations included Halton Borough Council’s Waste Team, Sure Start to Later Life and Halton Libraries as well as Palacefields Ukulele Group, Hillview Women’s Club, Runcorn Rotary and many more.
Everyone was able to chat over a cup of tea and piece of cake connecting projects, funding opportunities and other resources whilst knowing they were donating to a good cause.
The event raised £210 for Macmillan Cancer Support and has started some new exciting partnerships within the local community with a number of groups working together on projects.
Halton Borough Council Community Development team would like to thank all of the groups and individuals that attended along with the overwhelming donations of amazing cakes. A further mention to Macy’s Café from Grangeway Community Centre who donated the cost of all teas and coffees sold for the event.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Communities, Cllr Phil Harris said: “This event was an excellent opportunity to bring together many community groups and organisations to share their latest projects and have the chance to link up with each other while raising money for the national Macmillan Campaign.”
