More than 40 years on from their first hit, The Real Thing are one of our most enduring soul bands and they will be at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, on Friday 13 March.
The show will feature their million-selling hits, including three number one singles in the 70’s & 80’s – You To Me Are Everything, Can’t Get By Without You and Feel The Force.
The Real Thing were signed to Pye records and released You To Me Are Everything 1976, sailing to the top of the UK singles chart. The band went on to have a further nine hits over a three-year period.
The band’s iconic 4 From 8 album contained the L8 medley which featured Children of the Ghetto which has been covered by artists such as Mary J Blige, Philip Bailey of Earth Wind & Fire and Courtney Pine. It has been sampled by many rap bands as well as being featured in the Spike Lee movie ‘Clockers’.
The Real Thing Live DVD was recorded at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool to celebrate 40 years on the road. They also regularly perform at the Rewind the 80’s and the Here and Now festivals alongside such artists as Rick Astley, Boy George, Belinda Carlisle, Kool & the Gang and Chic.
